AM2 Planning were asked to assist a homeowner in Walthamstow who had planning permission refused for a side and rear extension. Waltham Forest Borough Council refused the scheme due to their opinion that the proposed extension would cause harm to the character and appearance of the area as a result of the extension largely filling an existing gap between properties. However, the Appeal Inspector agreed with the case presented by AM2 Planning, that the gap was not an important part of the character of the area, due to the primarily terraced nature of the street, and as a result the scheme adhered with relevant local and national policies and no harm would be caused by the proposal. The appeal was subsequently allowed in March 2025.
